I’m actually not really a big fan of Iris‘s in general. Janet Wolf one of our dear neighbors gave us a handful of extra bulbs one year and we started growing them. If you know anything about Iris‘s they multiply very quickly. We had the more classic yellow and orange ones for the most part But a couple of purple ones popped up. We started digging up the purple ones and putting them all in the same spot in the garden and over a couple of years that section was exclusively purple. I always thought the purple color of the Iris was neat, but this was another example of contrast that caught my eye. The purple iris in the foreground and the green grass in the background. I use a very shallow depth to field and got very close up in order to create the nice bokeh (blurriness) so that you couldn’t make out on a detail in the background, just the color.
