Fairmont Empress Hotel Victoria

Taken at the Fairmont Empress on our trip to the Pacific Northwest. This picture was taken from the small park across the street. I thought this hotel was gorgeous, especially the brick work. The flowers in the foreground, which I think were begonias, were on a hill in front of the Legislative Assembly Building of British Columbia. I took this shot at blue hour, the one night that we stayed in Victoria. I didn’t know much about Victoria and Vancouver Island before we visited. I was a little facinated with such a large city that was completely cut off from the mainland except by boat and plane.
