A single man departs Georgetown, SC. I captured this at “Between the Antlers”, a restaurant in Georgetown on the bay. This is an example of being in the right place at the right time. We were meeting our family at this spot and while we were waiting for them to arrive, I was looking out into the bay when I saw this man leaving. Just so many interesting things came together at once: a single man in a simple boat, a very calm bay with a perfect wake behind him, some interesting land in the background, a pier pile in the foreground and of course the sunset it. I grabbed this shot with my iPhone. This is one of the few pictures in my portfolio that I captured this way. It is a great example of “the best camera is the one you have with you” or another quote in a similar vein “F/8 and be there”.
