Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS)

This was the third of three really cool astrological events in 2024:

• Total Eclipse
• Northern Lights (in New Jersey)
• Tsuchinshan-ATLAS Comet

I got this shot of the comet about a half mile from my house. I’ve taken a few photos from this location in the past and knew this would likely have a good view of the comet since there is a long distance to the horizon due to farmer’s fields.

I was surprised to meet another photographer out in the same location. He was a local who lived less than a mile from me. We had a great discussion about astrophotography and photography in general.
